If you've ever blamed stress for new wrinkles or gray hairs, you were probably right.
There’s now strong proof that both intense and long-term stress make us grow old long before our time. But … there’s also new proof that a positive outlook can reduce impact of stress on your health. Stress CANNOT ravage your body if your mind says “NO.”
The Physical Impact of Stress
Studies show that high levels of stress lead straight to obesity, and trigger everything from heart attacks, cancer, ulcers, colitis, and all the age-related disorders like arthritis. The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention claims as much as 90% of doctor visits in the USA are triggered by a stress related illness.
What happens when you get his by stress? Your adrenal glands crank out powerful hormones. like the adrenaline that drives your blood pressure up. And with chronic stress, those hormones stay at dangerously high levels.
New research has shown that over-the-top stress like many of us are feeling today actually kills brain cells. This accelerates the aging process, leaving you with a less sharp brain and weakened memory.
Why "Old Age" Sometimes Starts Early
Dr Elissa Epel of the University of California studied women suffering intense stress from caring for chronically ill children. Her study looked deep inside their cells to determine if stress had affected a key part of their chromosomes called a “telomere.”
Telomeres cap the ends of the chromosomes containing your body's DNA, and are recognized markers of aging. As people get older this cap is "ground down." When the telomere gets too short to work properly, cells all over your body start to sicken or die -- and the diseases of old age set in.
Epel’s research team found that the longer a woman had cared for a child with a serious illness, the shorter her telomere -- a finding that points straight to rapid aging. "It's very sad," Epel says. "These women are paying an intense personal price."
But this premature aging response was not confined to caregivers: The study also studied mothers of healthy kids. Most of the women in this group did NOT report burn-out stress level. BUT... those who did also had shorter telomeres, and the related premature aging response.
When the researchers looked at the stressed-out women in both group, they found dramatic signs of damage. "They had lost the amount of telomeric DNA one would expect to lose in 10 years of aging," Dr. Epel says.
A Positive Attitude Prevents Aging
We all have stressful things happen to us –- loss of a job, a natural disaster, a divorce, a car accident. But does that type of stress doom us to DNA damage? Probably not. Providing you resolve the stressful situation and it does not become chronic, you can rebound and further develop your resilience and stress resistance.
The women in Dr Epel’s study who viewed their situation positively did NOT suffer the ill effects of stress. A positive outlook on life and regular stress-management regime can buffer you from the damage of ongoing stress.

A "Sneaky" Way to

I’m talking about subliminal messages.
Subliminal suggestions have so much impact that the UK, Australian and Canadian governments actually banned its uses for years.
So what are subliminal messages? Subliminal is defined as “below the threshold of consciousness.” Subliminal messaging sends messages directly to the part of your brain that controls everything from memory, to body temperature, to providing your conscious mind with your core traits.

A Subliminal Experiment
Here's a
way to get the power of subliminal messaging working for you! Identify a core goal you’d like to achieve. Then write that goal down as a simple, short, positive affirmation.
Then write your affirmation clearly using a thick black marker onto an index card. Create several cards, and keep them next to your bed with a flashlight.
Now you want to catch your mind in a highly receptive state, when the door to your subconscious is wide open. So set your alarm clock for 3am. As soon as you hear the ring turn off the alarm and pick up the affirmation cards and your flashlight. Leave the room pitch black.
Next, flick the flashlight on and off very quickly a dozen times over each affirmation card. While doing this just stare at the cards. Do NOT consciously try to make out the words. These subliminal messages are for your subconscious mind.
When you’re done just go back to sleep. As the change comes from within, it isn’t always obvious. Yet a few weeks down the line, most individuals realize just how far they’ve progressed without consciously realizing it.

Common nuts like walnuts, cashews pecans and almonds can eliminate “brain fog,” help you think clearer, and help create a positive mood.
Walnuts
Walnuts contain about 20 percent protein and contain linoleic (omega-6 fatty acid) and alpha-linoleic acids (omega-3 fatty acids), vitamin E and vitamin B6 -- making them an excellent source of nourishment for your entire nervous system.
The omega 3 fatty acids found in walnuts are especially helpful for good brain function. Our brain is more than 60% structural fat, and it needs the omega-3 fats found in walnuts and flaxseed. Cell membranes, which are primarily made up of healthy fats, are the gatekeepers of our cells. Omega-3 fats are flexible and fluid by nature, and make it easy for nutrients to pass thru the outer membrane of the cell.
Walnuts also help correct our brain’s seratonin levels. Seratonin is an important brain chemical that controls both our moods and appetite. Walnuts may be able to relieve disorders like insomnia, depression, overeating and other compulsive behaviors commonly treated with antidepressant drugs like Prozac.
Almonds
The phenylalanine found in almonds can do wondersfor your mental and neurological health. Phenylalanine has the rare ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and stimulate the brain to generate natural mood-boosting neurotransmitters called dopamine, adrenaline and noradrenaline. And almonds are high in riboflavin, which is known to boost memory.
Pecans and Cashews
Pecans and peanuts provide choline, another important nutrient for optimal brain function. Choline aids in both memory and brain development. Cashews are high in magnesium, which is known to open up the blood vessels in your body. More oxygen-rich blood equals better brain functions
