Here's a fact you may have overlooked so far in your life: Your brain contains the seeds of genius.

As you contemplate the following facts, your brain will be instantly altered. The new neural tracts that will be built while absorbing these facts WILL actually change your physical brain.

1. Your brain has an unlimited potential to learn
It handles an estimated 7 to 10 new pieces of information every second, and can continue to do so for the rest of your life, yet still have plenty of room left to learn more. And each time you have a new experience or learn something new, your brain physically grows new brain cell connections. 

2. Your cortex is wrinkled for a reason
You have billions and billions of brain cells packed into your 3-cortex, so it really has to be wrinkled to hold them all. If your brain cells were laid out end-to-end, they would stretch at least 800,000 kilometers (496,000 miles). This is roughly the distance to the moon and back. Yes, your brain could reach all the way to the moon and back!

3. Your brain is not limited to your skull
Your intelligence is actually distributed throughout all the cells of your body all the way down to your fingertips.  The body-mind barrier does NOT exist. We are thinking beings on every level. There's even a current scientific theory that our brain is holographic, and is duplicated right down to a sub-molecular level.

4. You actually have TWO centralized brains
You have almost as many brain cells in your second brain as you do in the portion encased in your skull.  That second brain is in your gut– your gut brain

5. Your brain is as unique as your fingerprint 
Of the six billion people currently living, and the ninety billion people who have ever walked the Earth, there has never been a brain quite like yours. YOU are truly unprecedented and totally unique.

6. Your brain is capable of unlimited thoughts
Back in 1968 a student of the great Pavlov shocked the scientific community when his research proved the smallest number of potential thought patterns an average brain can create is the number 1 — followed by 10.5 million kilometers long of typewritten zeros. How's that for unlimited creativity?

7. Intelligence has little to do with your IQ score  Neuro-scientists and neuro-psychologists now know that IQ tests only measure very limited logical thinking skills.  Such skills may actually be the most limited portion of your intelligence. We now know that there is also your emotional intelligence (EQ), and your all-important higher intelligence (HQ).  Many researchers also now identify as many as 25 sub-intelligences.

8. YOU can learn to think like a genius
Recent research clearly demonstrates that what set Einstein’s brain apart was the number of connections between his neurons.  This is not an "at birth" condition.  Such a densely packed brain is created by challenging yourself mentally in certain ways.

9. There's ONE thing you MUST control
You might think I am a fanatic because I am always encouraging you to learn to control your stress. Too many really bright people ay they really "cook" and get more done when they operate at a high level of stress. The truth? You are shortening your life, increasing your risk of stroke or heart attack, and actually getting LESS accomplished.

Stress creates a chemical reaction that SHUTS DOWN your higher thinking and creative brain centers, and actually KILLS brain cells. It also leads straight to mental and physical exhaustion, and even a low sex drive.

How to Lucid Dream

The Ultimate Virtual Reality

Lucid dreams are the ultimate "virtual reality." During a lucid dream you can go anywhere, meet anyone, and do literally anything. And you will have a very vivid feeling that your experience is totally real.

Remembering your dreams is the starting place for learning to have lucid dreams. To recognize your dreams as lucid dreams, you must be familiar with the way your own dreams work. If you don't recall your dreams, even if you do have a lucid dream, you won't remember it.

Getting plenty of sleep is the first step to good dream recall. When rested it is easier to focus on your goal of recalling dreams. Another benefit of getting plenty of sleep is that dream periods get longer and closer together as the night proceeds. The first dream of the night is the shortest, perhaps 10 minutes in length, while after 8 hours of sleep dream periods can be 45 minutes to an hour long.

We all dream every night, and have about one dream period every 90 minutes. People who say they never dream simply do not remember their dreams.

While you are developing your dream recall keep a dream journal. Record every dream you remember, no matter how fragmentary. Start by writing down all your dreams, not just the complete, coherent, or interesting ones -- even if all you remember is a face or a room, write it down.

When you wake in the night and recall what you were dreaming, record the dream immediately. One way to increase your dream recall is to remind yourself as you are falling asleep that you wish to awaken fully from your dreams and remember them.

Before attempting to write down a dream go over it in your mind, re-telling the dream to yourself. DO NOT MOVE from the position in which you awaken, and do not think of the day's concerns. Cling to any clues of what you might have been experiencing -- moods, feelings, fragments of images, and try to rebuild a story from them.

For over 1,000 years Tibetan Buddhists have practiced lucid dreaming as a means of approaching enlightenment. One of the techniques they use is frequent reflection throughout the day on the dreamlike nature of reality. For one interested in these methods, a good start may be to begin to regard all experience as a dream.

A glass of fruit or vegetable juice every other day may help fend off Alzheimer's disease.

Compared with those who averaged less than one glass of juice per week, those who drink three or more are 76% less likely to develop Alzheimer's disease, reports Dr. Qi Dai, M.D., of the Vanderbilt School of Medicine.

"These findings are new and suggest that fruit and vegetable juices may play an important role in delaying the onset of Alzheimer's disease," Dr. Dai and colleagues said in The American Journal of Medicine.

Recent studies of antioxidant vitamins for preventing Alzheimer's have been disappointing, despite the initial promise of these vitamins, the investigators said. Therefore, the current study explored fruit and vegetable juices, which are an abundant source of polyphenols, they said.

Polyphenols are usually found in the skin and peel of fruits and vegetables. Previous research has shown that when fruits and vegetables are mechanically squeezed to make juice, high concentrations of polyphenols from the peel and pulp get into the juice, the investigators said.

Although the current study did not identify the kinds of juices participants consumed, previous studies have shown that apple, grape, and citrus fruit juices are all high in polyphenols.

The study included nearly 2,000 dementia-free Japanese-Americans living in the Seattle area. The average age was nearly 72, and they were roughly half men and half women. Alzheimer's is relatively uncommon in Japan, but its prevalence has been rising in Japanese-Americans, suggesting environmental and lifestyle factors may be at play, the investigators said.

Participants completed a food frequency questionnaire and underwent clinical evaluation at baseline in 1992-1994. They then underwent clinical evaluation for Alzheimer's every two years through 2001.

After adjusting for age, gender, BMI, education, vitamin intake, smoking, and more, those who drank three or more servings of juice weekly had significantly reduced risk for Alzheimer's.

Even those who drank only one or two servings weekly had some protection compared with those who consumed less juice.

The association tended to be stronger among those who were former or current smokers, drank tea less often, and were less physically active.
